day one for a new blogger!

 Hi! I'm Faith Dea, and I am jumping in on blogging after considering it for at least two years now. I chose faith2dea as my blog name here because it reveals the correct pronunciation of my last name, and it also reminds me to think of what I can focus on achieving today. I'm currently on a family vacation, I have the whole summer off homeschooling my kiddos, and looking forward to setting some new writing goals! 

A brief overview of me: 

Grew up overseas as a missionary kid, put off going to college until after I began teaching full time in Hainan Province back in 1996. In 2001 I got pretty restless, wrapped things up in China, and flew back to the States solo to begin a new chapter of my life at a small Bible college. I did not realize that move would put me back several years in my personal growth spiritually and professionally. Such are the twists and turns of life. One thing is for sure, and that is, God sustained and shielded me from so much! In His mercy, He propelled me forward so that I would meet and marry my life partner in the "nick of time" and go on to grow a beautiful family with him. With most everything I could have imagined or expected out of life the day I said my vows, none would have come close to what I see before me today. I would not go back to my childhood, my 20s or my 30s even if I could. I am receiving more pleasure out of my 4th decade than all of the previous combined. How is that even possible when practically everyone in our society dreads aging, especially turning a new decade? I'm glad you asked. Stay tuned for my upcoming blog posts!
