Psalm 95 in 2023
"O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise with psalms. For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.
O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker. For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. Today if you will hear his voice, Harden not your heart" Psalm 95
The dawn of this new year offers a fresh invitation to come to the Lord. (Doesn't every day though? His mercies are new every single morning.) We have this idea that a year is so much bigger than a day, therefore more important in setting goals and starting over.
May this year find us coming to Jesus with a song in our hearts and making joyful noises with those around us, all because he is our rock, our King, our God above all gods. May we trust that his hands are so much bigger and capable of handling our problems, our worries, our dreams, and every minute detail of the people we care about, including ourselves. The things that appear far too deep, far too high, far too complex, may we remember that we are not here to figure them out alone.
Yes!!!!! Everyday is anew, it’s true.
